Description

House Assistant Responsibilities:

●  Assign and maintain daily/weekly chores.

●  Maintain resident calendar

●  Provide transportation to residents when needed

○  Once weekly store run (All residents will go together)

○  Once weekly errand run, if needed (All residents should do errands on same day)

○  Appointments, Work and/ or daycare

●  Assist residents with planning, preparing healthy meals as needed

●  Supervise lunch/dinner kitchen clean up

●  Supervise clearing out of refrigerator before grocery run

●  Prepare room for incoming resident

●  If on duty, supervise a resident leaving the home, strip bed and wash linens

●  Assist residents with any other daily needs, that may not be listed

●  If present when new resident arrives will give a tour of the home

●  Conduct evening safety checks:

●  Make sure all doors are locked, thermostats are set, lights are turned off, etc.

●  Check in with residents to make sure they are ok before leaving

●  Provide quality care and service to residents that will include:

○  Engaging residents in home life and activities

○  Providing client-centered support/intervention

○  Utilization of de-escalation and empowerment skills to best support residents and

minimize effects secondary trauma

●  Coordinate with other staff to address the immediate needs of residents

●  Monitor home inventory and restock as necessary

●  Performs basic administrative tasks such as filing incident reports, completing daily shift

log, answering phone, distribution of mail, etc.

●  Maintain CPR certification and any other certifications/licenses required to safely perform

duties

Requirement

Qualifications:

●  Must have a valid Driver’s License

●  Must pass a criminal background check

●  Must pass a drug test.

●  Must be a person of strong character

We house homeless pregnant women and provide them with family support, encouragment, transportation and a holistic program for success so that she can focus on herself, her future and her baby.
